The Shellers feat Keke Manikii and NEOne The Wonderer- No More Words
London band The Shellers (vocalist Jamal Bucanon & producer Lawaun Bernard) return with the powerful and emotive song ‘No More Words’, a collaboration with Midlands artists NeOne, The Wonderer (Future Bubblers), and brand-new artist Keke Manikii.
The song explores the hurt, tensions, and anxiousness of an unsettled, broken relationship.
This song was born in late 2023 during the band’s late-night music sessions with a community of music friends, including songwriter and producer Pep (Ghetts, Wretch 32) and composer and sound designer Leon Jean Marie (BBE Records). The smokey, jazz noir-infused upright bass mood brought out each artist’s vulnerability, allowing them to speak their truth on this record.
The song has been enthusiastically championed by many of the young music club participants at BeauBeau's Café run by British-Nigerian designer Slawn, in London.
These reactions have also helped to lean into one of the themes of the record which is ‘Home’. Capturing a plethora of different perspectives and definitions of what home is and sharing it across The Shellers socials. Tastemakers such as DJ AG, Maverick Sabre and Professor Green have also joined in and shared their perspective on the record and home.
